Indomitable stage mother Rose chases vicarious success and stardom as she pushes her daughters through the vaudeville circuit during the 1920's, when vaudeville was dying and burlesque was born. Jule Styne's music and Stephen Sondheim's lyrics include Let Me Entertain You, Some People, Everything's Coming Up Roses, and Together Wherever We Go.  A gripping story with “broad” appeal.
